As a certified specialist in taxation law by the Supreme Court of South Carolina, Michael has demonstrated a level of skill and expertise in this area which serves as a basis for his representation of clients in all aspects estate planning, corporate planning, income tax planning, and estate and gift tax planning.
In his estate planning practice, Michael assists clients in simple to complex estate planning, including but not limited to wills, powers of attorney, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, charitable trusts, life insurance trusts, generation skipping trusts, family limited partnerships, and more.
Michael’s nonprofit organization practice includes working with individuals and groups to form nonprofits. He advises them on the operations of the nonprofits, files required IRS documentation to receive exempt nonprofit status, and more. His work in this area is for community foundations, private foundations, public charities and social clubs.
Michael has experience assisting clients in probate related litigation involving estates and trusts. This includes will contests, internal and external trust disputes, and estate matters including settling and compromising claims in estates.

Michael is a native of Spartanburg. He and his wife stay busy keeping up with the activities of their two children and being involved in their church, First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing and exercising (ok, not so much the exercise part). While you won’t see him on The Voice, Michael enjoys playing the guitar and attending live music events. He has also been known to take his turn in the kitchen to show off his culinary skills.
